Ann Alejandro
Beauty Parlor Poems
When I watch him and Wayne head
and heel I remember why I followed him
around hopeless like a cat you have to feed
to shut it up he swears he only married me
so I’d leave him alone Nobody else on the
highway just old Sidewinder back there shifting his
weight tired and quiet and somewhere you could
meet God on Sunday but I knew better.
